Applications are invited for the TANCET to be conducted by Anna University Chennai on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu on 29th & 30th May, from candidates who seek admission to 1. M.B.A., 2. M.C.A., and 3. M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch. / M.Plan. Degree Programmes in Tamil Nadu for the year 2010-2011 offered at University Departments of Anna University Chennai, Anna University Coimbatore, Anna University Trichy, Anna University Tirunelveli, Govt. Engineering, Arts and Science Colleges, Govt. Aided Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges, and Govt. Quota seats in self-financing Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges / stand alone Institutions. Some Universities and Self-Financing Engineering Colleges may also opt to admit the candidates on the basis of TANCET.
Other State candidates can appear for the entrance test but, admission is subject to the eligibility conditions of the admitting authority / University.
The candidates, who wish to pursue their post-graduation in professional courses in Anna University in the state of Tamil Nadu, will be required to take up the TANCET examination. A number of candidates appear for the TANCET examination every year in Tamil Nadu for getting admission in best courses and colleges. Not only candidates from Tamil Nadu, but also candidates from outside Tamil Nadu can appear for TANCET, but there are certain rules for these candidates.
TANCET is conducted for admitting students to the courses like M. Plan, M. Arch, M. Tech, M.E, MCA and MBA. The eligibility criteria for TANCET examination for each of these courses for the year 2010 is given below:
MBA and MCA: The candidate applying for TANCET MBA/MCA should be a graduate from a recognized university of any discipline. Even candidates in their final year of their graduation course can also apply for TANCET MBA/MCA. In the case of TANCET MCA, the candidate should have studied statistics/mathematics at their diploma/+2 level or graduation.
M. Tech/M.E: The candidate should be a B. Tech/B.E graduate in the respective disciple, in which the candidate wishes to do M. Tech/M.E. Even candidates in the final year of their graduation course can also apply for TANCET examination.

M. Plan/M. Arch:
The candidate should have a bachelor’s/master’s degree in planning/architecture. Even candidates in their final year of their graduation/post-graduation course can also apply.

The forms will be available directly from various centers as notified in the advertisement and hall ticket will be issued on-spot. All India MCA Common Entrance Test


Application inviting for admission of All India MCA Common Entrance Test
Sale of Application Forms:
The application form for the above exam will be available from March to April, and may extent to a maximum of end week of April. Thereby, candidates can be assured of the fact that they have to submit the completed form on or before the end week of the month of April. There is also an option to avail the application from through post, besides availing the form through the official website of the AIMCET. There is also an option to obtain the application form from the mentioned centers.
How to Apply:
The forms are to be downloaded from the official website or can be availed in person from the mentioned centers. The form is required to be filled up completely with the essential details and is required to be submitted before the last day of the submission.
Eligibility criteria:
1. The candidate must be of Indian nationality.
2. The candidate must also have passed class 12th examination in any stream with mathematics as a main subject.
3. The candidate should also be a graduate with at least 3 year degree.
4. The candidate appearing for the final year examination can also apply for MCA examination.

About The Examination:
The last date of the receipt of the form is generally kept in the end of April. The admit cards are then dispatched by the mid of May, and the examination is held in the 1st week of June. Though the dates for AIMCET 2011 is not yet announced, it is believed that probably it will lie somewhere in the first week of June 2011.

Eligibility: Minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade in any one: B.Tech/B.E. in Chemical Engineering/Biochemical Engineering, Industrial Biotechnology, Leather Technology, Chemistry/Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, B. Pharma, Chemical Technology, OR M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, Biophysics, Microbial Genetics and Bioinformatics. (For Anna University: Candidates with B.Tech/B.E in Electrochemistry, Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Technology, Food Technology and M.Sc. in Chemistry & Physics are also eligible. For West Bengal University of Technology : Candidates with M.Sc. in Bioengineering are also eligible. For Cochin University of Science and Technology: Candidates with M.Sc in Marine Biotechnology, Marine Biology/Aquatic Biology & Fisheries, Environmental Biotechnology are also eligible.).

Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) Admission 2011


Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) invites applications for admission to the following programmes:
1. M.Sc. (Economics): This is a two-year programme commencing August 2011.
Eligibility: Minimum qualification: B.A./B.Sc. in Economics/B.Com./B.Stat./B.Sc. (Physics or mathematics)/B.Tech./B.E. with at least a second division for Economics discipline and first division for other disciplines. (Physics or Mathematics or Environmental Science or Operations Research)/M.B.A./M.Tech./M.E./ B.Tech./B.E. with at least 55% aggregate marks for Economics discipline and 60% aggregate marks for other disciplines. The applicant must have studied Mathematics at the higher secondary level or should be able to demonstrate equivalent mathematical ability.

 Selection Procedure: Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in a written test and an interview. The written test emphasizes general aptitude, analytical ability and mathematical skills. The test will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2011 at the following centres: Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, and Thiruvananthapuram. The test venue will be notified in the call letter. Based on the performance in the written test, short listed candidates will be called for an interview at IGIDR around the last week of June 2011. Second class return rail fare by the shortest route from the place of residence will be paid to the candidates interviewed. The decision of the Institute will be final.
