BITSAT 2011 Last date 31st January 2011


Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) inviting application for integrated first degree programmes to its Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad centers. Candidate who have passed the 12th class under 10+2 system from a  recognised state or central board or its equivalent with physics, chemistry and mathematics. Further the candidate should have obtained a minimum of 80% aggregate mark in physics, chemistry and mathematics subjects in 12th class expiation, at least 60% mark in each of the physics, chemistry, mathematics subjects and adequate proficiency in English. Only students who are appearing for 12th class examination in 2011 or who have passed the 12th class examination in 2010 are eligible to appear for BITSAT-2011. Students who are presently studying in BITS at any of its campus are not eligible to appear for BITSAT-2011. The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) last date 2 April 2011


CLAT is an all India entrance examination conducted by 11 National Law Universities for admissions to their under-graduate and post graduate degree programmes (LL.B & LL.M).

JOINT ENTRANCE TEST FOR AGRI BUSINESS MANAGEMENT, 2011 (JET-ABM, 2011)


The three national institutions under the Ministry of Agriculture will conduct a Joint Entrance Test – Agri Business Management (JET – ABM) on Sunday, March 27, 2011 for selection of candidates to their respective Post-Graduate Programmes in Agri Business Management recognized by AICTE.

(i) National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Rajendranagar, Hyderabad – 500 030 – PGDM(ABM)
(ii) Choudhary Charan Singh National Institute of Agricultural Marketing (CCS-NIAM), Bambala, Kota Road, Jaipur – 302 033 - PGDM(ABM) and
(iii) National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM), Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad – 500 407 – PGDMA
Candidates will be short-listed for further steps in selection process based on the JET ABM.

The application form and detailed instructions may also be obtained by post by sending a request along with an Indian Postal Order / Demand Draft of Rs.100/- to any of the three institutions. HSEE 2011 Last Date 19 January 2011


Indian Institute of Technology,Madras (IITM) invites applications for the Humanities And Social Sciences Entrance Examination (HSEE-2011) which leads to the admission for Integrated M.A. in Development Studies and Integrated M.A. in English Studies offered by the IITM.

Eligibility for HSEE 2011 of IITM

Qualifying Examination: Candidates applying for HSEE-2011 should have either completed or are appearing in 2011 in any one of the following qualifying examinations (QE):
(a) The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central /State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi; etc.
(b) Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board /University.
(c) Final Examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
(d) General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
(e) High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University.
(f) Any Public School /Board /University Examination in India or in any foreign country recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.
(g) H.S.C. Vocational Examination.
(h) Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.
In case the relevant qualifying examination is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination at an earlier level. This is in addition to passing in the qualifying examination with aggregate marks relevant to the category of the candidate.
Percentage of Marks in QE for HSEE 2011 of IITM
The candidates belonging to the general category must secure a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in the QE. Candidates belonging to SC, ST and PD categories must secure a minimum of 55% in aggregate in the QE. If any Board awards only letter grades without providing an equivalent percentage of marks on the grade sheet, the candidate should obtain a certificate from the Board specifying equivalent marks, and submit it at the time of joining. In case, such a certificate is not provided by the candidate, the decision of the HSEE Admission Committee regarding his/her eligibility shall be final.
Date of Birth for HSEE 2011 of IITM
A Candidate, whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1986, is eligible for HSEE-2011.
However, in the case of SC, ST and PD candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e., candidates belonging to these categories /subcategories born on or after October 01, 1981 are eligible. The date of birth as recorded in the High School (10th std. / 12th Std.) first Board / Pre-University Certificate will be taken as authentic. Candidates must produce a copy of this certificate along with the completed Application Form as a proof of their age and at the time of admission original certificate has to be produced failing which they will be disqualified.
Physical Fitness for HSEE 2011 of IITM
All qualified candidates will have to submit a Physical Fitness certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner in the prescribed format that will be made available to them along with offer of admission letter. They will be admitted only if they are physically fit for pursuing a course of study at the Institute.

IIT JAM 2011 Last Date 24/01/2011

Applications are invited for Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) 2011 session. The objective of JAM 2011 is to provide admissions to various M.Sc., Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree and other post-bachelor degree programmes at the IITs based on the performance in a single test and to consolidate Science as a career option for bright students from across the country. In due course, JAM is also expected to become a benchmark for normalizing undergraduate level science education in the country.

Programmes to which Admissions are made based on JAM 2011 score
The following are the full-time M.Sc., Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree and other post-bachelor degree programmes at different IITs to which admissions shall be made on the basis of JAM 2011.

M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree in Energy (IITB): 

Bachelor’s degree with any one of Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics for two years/four semesters, and any one of the remaining two subjects for at least one year/ two semesters.

M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree in Environmental Science & Engineering (IITB): 

Bachelor’s degree with any one of Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics for two years/four Semesters, and any one of the other four subjects for at least one year/two Semesters. The candidates should have Mathematics at (10+2) level.

M.Tech. Geophysical Technology (IITR):
Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics and Physics as subjects and anyone of the following subjects: Chemistry, Geology, Statistics, Electronics and Computer Science.

Master of Computer Applications [MCA] (IITR): 

Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics as a subject for at least one year for annual system candidates/ at least two papers of Mathematics for semester system candidates.

Eligibility Requirements for IIT JAM Programmes

The candidates who qualify in JAM 2011 shall have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria for admissions in IITs.
• At least 55% aggregate marks (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for General/OBC category candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for SC, ST and PD category candidates in the qualifying degree.
For candidates with letter grades/CGPA (instead of percentage of marks), the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the Admitting Institute(s).
• Proof of having passed the qualifying degree with the minimum educational qualification as specified by the admitting institute should be submitted by 30th September 2011.
At the time of admission, all admitted candidates will have to submit a physical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner in the prescribed form. At the time of registration, the admitted candidates may also have to undergo a physical fitness test by a medical board constituted by the Admitting Institute. In case a candidate is not found to be physically fit to pursue his/her chosen course of study, his/her admission is liable to be cancelled.
