COMMON MANAGEMENT ADMISSION TEST 2013


All India Council For Technical Education invites application for the second phase of Common Management Admission Test (CMAT)- 2013-14. CMAT is the selection test for admitting students in all management programmes approved by AICTE in facilitating institutes. For those candidates who want to better the score of first phase can also appear and the better of two scores will be considered.

Graduates in any discipline or Final year students of Graduate Courses can apply for CMAT online.

Registration Process

Online registration started on 1st November, 2012 and will close on 2nd January, 2013 on website http://www.aicte-cmat.in candidates can choose 3 cities for online examination in the order of preference. Allotment of test centre will be based on first come first served basis. Actual allotment however will be subject to availability of the slots in a particular city. Fee for online registration is Rs. 1200/- for General / OBC Candidates and Rs. 600/- for SC/ST and Physically Disabled. Fee once remitted will not be refunded. Candidates can pay the exam fee through bank challan or through online via Net banking / Credit Card / Debit card.

FedBank Hormis Memorial Foundation Scholarships 2012-13 (Federal Bank)


Applications for scholarships are invited from students studying in the state of Kerala & Tamil Nadu for Medicine (MBBS), Engineering (B.E/B.Tech), Agriculture (B.Sc), Nursing (B.Sc) and MBA courses. Ten students in each discipline, of which one seat will be kept aside for a physically challenged student (duly evidenced by a certificate issued by a Medical Officer not below the rank of DMO or an approved Medical Officer of the Bank), will be reimbursed 100% of the tuition fees as per the fee structure for seats allotted in the Goverriment quota in Govt., Aided and Self-financing colleges, subject to a maximum of Rs.75,000/- in a year up to the normal completion of course. If there are no sufficient applicants in the 'physically challenged' category, then cases of less than 40% also will be considered. Any disruption on account of any kind of failure will make the student ineligible for scholarships. If applications are not received from eligible candidates under 'physically challenged', it will be utilized under general category.
Conditions:
  1. The student should be of Indian origin and studying in the state of Kerala or Tamil Nadu in any of the Govt./Aided/Self-financing colleges duly recognised by any of the Universities in India. The tuition fees should be in parity with the fees approved by the Govt, for Aided/Self-financing colleges under merit list.
  2. The student should have secured admission under Merit List during the academic year 2012-13 in the respective course.
  3.  Family income of the student should be below Rs. 2.50 lakh per annum.
  4.  The decision on selection of eligible students and on payment of the scholarship by the Managing Trustee shall be final & binding on all concerned.

Maulana Azad National Fellowship For Minority Students For The Year 2012 – 13


University Grants Commission invites applications for the award of 756 fellowships for the year 2012-13 under Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MANF) for the benefit of Minority Students belonging to Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist & Parsi communities for pursuing studies leading to M.Phil/Ph.D degree (full time) in Sciences, Engineering & Technology, Humanities & Social Sciences. Students availing themselves of the benefit of JRF of UGC-NET or UGC-CSIR NET are not eligible to apply. Selection will be made on the basis of merit. INTRODUCTION

Phil and Ph.D. The Fellowship will cover all Universities/Institutions recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) and section 3 of the UGC Act alongwith those which are not under the purview of UGC and will be implemented by the Ministry of Minority Affairs through UGC for students belonging to the minority communities. The fellowship under Maulana Azad National Fellowship for minority students will be on the pattern of UGC Fellowships awarded to research students pursuing regular and full time M. Phil and Ph.D courses. The fellowship holders under this Fellowship will be known as Ministry of Minority Affairs scholars.
OBJECTIVE

ELIGIBILITY:
A candidate has to fulfil the following conditions to be eligible for award of this fellowship
1.         He/she should belong to one of the minority communities notified under Section 2 (c) of the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992.
2.         He/she should get admission and registration for regular and full time M.Phil/Ph.D courses in University/Academic Institution by fulfilling conditions of admission of that University/Institution, subject to provisions of the Fellowship as per advertisement of UGC.
3.         The minority community students once considered eligible for the fellowship shall not be entitled to benefits under any other source, Central or State Government or any other body like UGC for the same study.
4.         Prior clearance of NET/SET examination will not be a prerequisite for award of Maulana Azad National Fellowship for minority students for M.Phil/Ph.D.
5.         In order to qualify for the award of JRF/ SRF the UGC norms would be applicable at pre-M.Phil and pre-Ph.D stage, respectively, including the minimum score of 50% at post graduate level.
NATURE OF ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE UNDER THE SCHEME:
The rate of fellowship for JRF and SRF will be at par with the UGC fellowship as amended from time to time. Presently these rates are as follows
Fellowship @ Rs 16,000/- p.m. for initial two years (JRF) & @ Rs 18,000/- p.m. for remaining tenure (SRF)
Contingency for Arts & Commerce: @ Rs 10, 000/- p.a. for initial two years. & @ Rs 20, 500/- p.a. for remaining three years
Contingency for Sciences & Engineering: @ Rs 12, 000/- p.a. for initial two years & @ Rs 25, 000/- p.a. for remaining three years.

INNOVATIVE YOUNG BIO-TECHNOLOGIST AWARD


Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India Invites application for INNOVATIVE YOUNG BIOTECHNOLOGIST AWARD
The ‘Innovative Young Biotechnologist Award’ (IYBA) was instituted by the Department of Biotechnology in the year 2005, as an attractive, career-oriented scheme to identify and nurture outstanding young scientists with innovative ideas and desire to pursue research in frontier areas of biotechnology. For the year 2012 awards the department invites applications from the young investigators upto the age of 35 years. The award will consist of financial support for a project and Cash Award/fellowship for the awardees. Awardees having a regular employment will receive a cash award of Rs 1.00/- Lakhs every year during the course of the project in addition to grants-in-aid of Rs 50.00/- Lakhs for a project. The awardees, those are not in the regular employment will receive a fellowship of Rs 40,000/- per month with grants-in-aid and shall be attached to a Senior Scientist (Mentor) in a University, Research Institute, Medical/Agriculture/ Veterinary College or any other institute of repute. It is expected that the awardees will work independently and the Mentor will facilitate the awardees research efforts. Applications (2 copies) neatly typed on plain paper in the prescribed format along with enclosures & certified copies to be sent to Dr. T. Madhan Mohan, Adviser, Department of Biotechnology, Block-2, CGO Complex, Lodi Road, New Delhi – 110 003, so as to reach latest by 23rd November, 2012. The University Grants Commission announces holding of the National Eligibility Test (NET) on 30th December 2012 (SUNDAY) for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Lectureship only or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Eligibility for Lectureship both in Indian universities and colleges. UGC will conduct NET in 78 subjects (listed under item no. 9) at 77 (Seventy Seven, including three new NET Coordinating Universities) selected NET Coordinating Universities (listed under Item no. 10) spread across the country. 

Last date for Applying On-Line 16 -11-2012

Last date for receiving the printout of online Application Form (one copy) and Attendance Slip (one copy) at the respective Coordinating University opted by the candidate (with fee receipt & category certificate(s) ) 22-11-2012
