UGC-NET IN OBJECTIVE MODE FROM JUNE, 2012 ONWARDS


1.
The UGC-NET will be conducted in objective mode from June 2012 onwards. The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will consist of only objective type questions and will be held on the day of Examination in two separate sessions as under:

Only such candidates who obtain the minimum required marks in each Paper, separately, as mentioned above, will be considered for final preparation of result.
However, the final qualifying criteria for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and eligibility for Lectureship shall be decided by UGC before declaration of result.

The syllabus of Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III will remain the same.
  
4.
The candidates will be allowed to carry the carbon printout of OMR Response Sheets with them on conclusion of the examination.
  
5.
There will be no negative marking.

National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2012 on 27th May

National Entrance Screening Test is the entrance examination conducted for admission to NISER – National Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhubaneswar and Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences, Dept. of Atomic Energy - University of Mumbai. National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) is a compulsory test for students seeking admission to NISER and CBS.
Courses offered: 5 Year Integrated MSc in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. 
Eligibility: Students securing at least 60% marks (or equivalent grade) in aggregate in Class XII (or equivalent) examination from any recognized Board in India are eligible to apply. For Scheduled Cast (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates and for Persons with Disability (PD), the minimum requirement is 55% of marks. Students who have passed the Class XII qualifying examination in 2010 or 2011 or are appearing in 2012 are eligible to apply. Application fee for NEST is Rs. 600/- for general and OBC male candidates. For SC/ST/PD candidates and female candidates the amount is Rs. 300/-. The application fee may be paid by demand draft or by electronic mail transfer to NEST account. Demand Draft: Demand draft may be drawn from any bank provided that it is drawn in the name of NEST and payable at Mumbai. Detailed instructions for payment of fees are available at http://www.nestexam.in. Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) invites applications for admission to the programme M.Sc. Economics and M.Phil/PhD in Developmental Studies.
Eligibility: For MSc Economics Minimum qualification: B.A./B.Sc. in Economics/B.Com./B.Stat./B.Sc. (Physics or mathematics)/B.Tech./B.E. with at least a second division for Economics discipline and first division for other disciplines.
